Growing up in Troy, Michigan, Dr. Duncan knew at age seven that he wanted to be a veterinarian. He attended Michigan State University from 1990 until he graduated in 1998 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. He took his first job at Gibraltar Veterinary Hospital. From there, he joined Oakland Animal Hospital in 2002 and became a partner in September, 2004. He has received additional training in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery (bone plating, corrective osteotomy, TPLO) as well as animal rehabilitation, cardiac and abdominal ultrasound. In 2021, Dr. Michael Schumacher of RVH sought out Dr. Duncan to purchase RVH so he could retire knowing that the practice he built and loved was in great hands.
Dr. Duncan is married and resides in Rochester, Michigan where he and his wife enjoy spending time with their two children and animals. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Michigan Veterinary Medical Association and Rochester Jaycees. In his free time, Dr. Duncan enjoys volleyball, computers and music.
Dr. Booth grew up in Shelby Township and attended Dwight D. Eisenhower High school. He earned his bachelor’s degree in zoological anthropology from the University of Michigan in 2005 and his D.V.M. from Michigan State University in 2009, practicing throughout metropolitan Detroit since that time. Dr. Booth joined Oakland Animal Hospital in 2017, became a practice partner in 2018, and is now thrilled to be a partner and practicing veterinarian at Romeo Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Booth lives in Rochester Hills with his wife, three young sons and a bouncing Boxer dog named Ray Cooper. In the rare event he finds free time he enjoys running, college football, and exploring Rochester’s outdoor spaces and parks. He is happy to be part of the Romeo community and provide the highest quality of care for the area’s pets.
Courtney B. Farr, D.V.M. received her undergraduate degree from Western Michigan University in 1998. She graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2003 from The Ohio State University. She began practicing at Parkview Animal Hospital in Warren and spent 12 years there. She joined Oakland Animal Hospital in July of 2015, and is now is thrilled to join RVH.
Dr. Farr has a special interest in abdominal ultrasound, abdominal emergencies, soft tissue surgery, as well as many areas of internal medicine. She enjoys the challenges of veterinary medicine and potential to learn from each patient she meets.
Dr. Farr lives in Shelby Township with her husband, daughter, 2 sons, dog and cat. In their free time, they enjoy hiking, biking, camping, snow skiing, hockey, and soccer. Dr. Farr loves to cook, exercise, read, and volunteer in her children’s classrooms.
Dr. Marie Haddock grew up on a farm in California. Her early adventures with horses, goats, pigs, rabbits, chickens, dogs and cats led to a conviction that a career in veterinary medicine was the only path for her. She spent her undergraduate years pursuing a double major in German studies and integrative biology at the University of California at Berkeley. In her spare time she was a D1 rower on the crew team. Vet school was her first foray East when she earned her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. Initially specializing in the equine species, Dr. Haddock worked in various disciplines including race horses at Santa Anita and Hollywood Park racetracks. Since 2010, Dr. Haddock has been happiest caring for the Rochester community’s beloved furry family members. She has an amazing husband and three children who are much smarter than she is. She also has two dogs, one who runs the show and one who is lucky he is pretty.
Most weekends and evenings she can be found supporting her family’s extracurricular activities and enjoys traveling, reading, running, cooking, and keeping her pandemic sourdough alive. She is excited to join Romeo Vet Hospital’s team and forge new friendships with pets and their connections.
Dr. Kathryn Hicks grew up an animal lover in Grosse Pointe Woods, MI where she was raised by two Michigan State University Spartans. She graduated with a bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 2005. Her parents were proud when she was admitted to Michigan State University where she graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009.
Dr. Hicks is eager to assist the patients of Romeo Veterinary Hospital enjoy their best quality of life through all life stages. She strives to build strong working relationships with pet owners by partnering in evaluation and treatment of their pets.
Dr. Hicks is married, has three young boys, and a Boxer dog named Ray Cooper. Precious free time is spent with family and friends. She also likes to walk the dog, search for the perfect bag, listen to music, and watch movies – popcorn required!
